When building a brand, it’s easy to get bogged down in picking the best name or designing the best logo. However, there is more to brand building than that. Building a brand does not happen overnight and it takes a lot of time and effort. Although there’s a great number of tips, here are four of the top ones:
1. Establish an Online Presence
You need to establish an online presence where you can engage with your audience. One of the best easy to do this is to have a website (non-negotiable) and/or blog. You also need to create profiles for your brand on social networks. However, this does not mean that you should be on every social network – stick to the ones that resonate with you and your audience.
2. Aim for High-Value Customers
Having a steady stream of clients is a good thing, but they have to be high-value customers. Ask yourself what high-value customers are to you. Are they the ones who bring in the most clients or those who are most loyal? Once you figure that out, focus all your marketing efforts towards attracting and retaining them.
3. Consistency is Key
Give your customers value and give it to them all the time. Don’t water down the value of your products and services to cut down on costs or – worse – assume your customers won’t notice. Always be consistent and never gamble on how much value means to your customers.
4. Pleasing Everyone is Impossible
There is an old saying that goes, “you can never please everyone.” Your brand is not here to please everyone, so there is no point in trying. Stick to what’s true to your brand and the right clients will come along to help you achieve all your goals.
